Job Summary

Reporting to the Finance Manager the Senior Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing the accounting operations of multiple foreign subsidiaries, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting in accordance with U.S. GAAP and local statutory requirements. This role leads the transition and ongoing management of in-housing accounting processes into NetSuite, drives standardization across entities, and partners cross-functionally to support global financial operations. The position requires strong international knowledge of U.S. GAAP & IFRS standards, foreign currency accounting (ASC 830), intercompany elimination and consolidation experiences, and an understanding transfer pricing.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Global Accounting Oversight
    • Manage month-end and year-end close processes for multiple international subsidiaries.
    • Ensure completeness and accuracy of financial results in compliance with U.S. GAAP and applicable local regulations.
    • Review and approve journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial analyses.
    • Oversee intercompany transactions, eliminations, and reconciliations across global entities.
  • NetSuite & Systems Management
    • Lead the utilization and optimization of NetSuite OneWorld for multi-entity, multi-currency accounting.
    • Drive automation and standardization of accounting processes within NetSuite.
    • Partner with IT and finance systems teams to implement enhancements and resolve system issues.
  • International Subsidiary Integration
    • Lead the transition of accounting activities from third-party providers to internal teams.
    • Develop and document standardized processes, controls, and policies across all subsidiaries.
    • Ensure consistency in chart of accounts, journal entry practices, and reconciliation formats.
  • Foreign Currency & Consolidation
    • Manage foreign currency translation in accordance with GAAP guidelines ASC 830.
    • Review and validate FX remeasurement and translation adjustments
    • Ensure accurate consolidation of global financial results.
  • Compliance & Controls
    • Maintain and enhance internal controls over financial reporting (SOX experience preferred, if applicable).
    • Coordinate with external auditors for international audits and statutory filings.
    • Ensure compliance with local tax, VAT, and regulatory requirements in coordination with tax advisors.
  • Process Improvement & Leadership
    • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, scalability, and accuracy of accounting operations.
    • Mentor and develop accounting staff members.
    • Support special projects such as system implementations, acquisitions, and entity expansions.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Education & Experience
    • A degree in Finance or Accounting or Business is required
    • CPA, Chartered Accountant, or similar license strongly preferred
    • 6-10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including direct experience with multinational subsidiaries
    • Minimum of 2 years of management and/or public accounting experience
  • Technical Expertise
    • Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, foreign currency accounting (ASC 830), & Intercompany accounting and consolidations
    • Advanced experience with NetSuite OneWorld (required).
    • Proficiency in Excel and financial reporting tools.
    • Advanced knowledge of MS office, specifically Excel.
    • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
