JOB SUMMARY 

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Data Analyst to join our team.  In this role, you will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining Power BI dashboards, reports and their underlying semantic models within our Microsoft Fabric and Azure environments. You will work closely with data engineers and business stakeholders to ensure seamless data integration and visualization for analytical and operational use cases. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in data modeling and visualization, along with a passion for solving complex problems. Experience in pharma and clinical trials is preferred.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Data Visualization:
    • Work closely with business units to understand their data visualization needs and translate them into requirements and use cases
    • Design and implement data models and schemas based on business requirements
    • Create visual representations of data through interactive charts, graphs, and dashboards that make the data understandable
    • Use statistical tools and techniques to explore and analyze data, exposing new patterns, relationships, and trends
    • Prepare reports and presentations to communicate insights and findings from the data to stakeholders
  2. Data Acquisition:
    • Connect to various data sources, including Azure SQL, Excel and CSV files, and cloud-based services
    • Create, maintain and optimize Azure Fabric Dataflows and Pipelines for efficient data ingestion, transformation, and loading (ETL/ELT) within our Azure platform
    • Utilize and manage CI/CD pipelines across multiple environments
  3. Collaboration:
    • Partner with data engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders to gather and understand data requirements and translate them into technical solutions
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support data-driven decision-making
  4. Data Quality and Governance:
    • Implement data validation, monitoring, and quality assurance processes
    • Ensure compliance with data governance and security standards
  5. Performance Optimization:
    • Monitor and tune data processing systems to improve efficiency, reduce latency and ensure uptime
    • Troubleshoot and resolve data-related issues

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s in Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of experience as a data analyst or in a similar role
  • Strong proficiency and hands-on experience in:
  • Microsoft Power BI
  • DAX, T-SQL, and Power Query M
  • Microsoft Fabric and/or Azure Data Factory
  • Azure SQL, Microsoft SQL Server, and other database technologies
  • Experience in data modeling, warehousing, and ETL/ELT processes
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and Git version control tools
  • Experience with C# and Dot Net Core a definite plus
  • Exposure to machine learning workflows and frameworks
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Familiarity with the following is a definite plus:
    • The Medical and CRO industries
    • HIPPA, GDPR, FDA Regulations and Data Privacy laws
    • Formal Validation testing, documentation and requirements
